Peter & Magic Crazy Bear
Celebrating CrazyBear's 7th Birthday!
Today is a very bitter-sweet celebration of Magic & Crazy Bear’s life.
This is the last time my love & companion, Crazybear, will have all her limbs.
She is shortly to loose half of her right rear leg to osteosarcoma,
in an attempt to not loose the whole of her
wonderful, beautiful, caring, loving, sharing, graceful being!!!!
She is still her tender, friendly and loving self, and brave in the extreme,
bearing-up to all the discomforts as well as the inability to walk as she once could - let alone run and jump.
She may eventually have a prosthetic leg, and will learn to hop around on three.
However, her days of Frisbee and jumping for a ball are over,
as may be walking to the mountains tops in Colorado,
but we will try to do all - and to ‘push the envelope’ as we always have before .
We both cry a lot and it has been a very sad and difficult time for the two of us.
[She got a new wagon to ride in for her birthday today. She would have preferred a new ball!]
Peter had the strange fate to meet and fall in love with this absolutely wonderful and transcendent being,
who just happens to be an Alaskan Malamute.
Crazybear has been there everyday for Peter these past seven years (and saved his life many times over).
Now Peter is there for Magic Crazy Bear and will fight to the last of his energy, ability and funds
to save her and preserve our wolf pack of two.
She has many battles ahead – operation, chemotherapy, and more.
She wants so much to live, and is still so full of life and love.
We choose to fight! We choose to stand or fall, shoulder to shoulder, on this!
Magic Crazy Bear has asked me to say hello to all who know her.
She thinks that seven is very young to be walking like a dog twice her age, or to loose a leg.
We beseech the universe that she will fair well and live out her normal lifespan.
Peter is sadder and more broken-hearted than words can here describe!
He has never known such a wonderful life partner and significant other.
He feels her pain as his own.
This is a most cruel twist of fate for paramours Magic Crazy Bear and Peter.
We are both numb with the reality - and filled with fear for the future, for both of us.
We are both being brave, but are also with great anxiety.
The last years had not been easy, and the future ones are now very unsure.
We have shared and loved for 7 years – and we hope for 7 more. It will take Magic!
About to start our last hike on all fours, on a trail in the woods.
Seven years ago..when we met and fell in love.
We two wolves have shared every moment of the past seven years; lived in tents and flats together;
shared the good and the bad, feast and famine, hiked to mountaintops and walked in deserts together.
Crazybear definitely saved Peter at his low point in life, and he'd not have survived these last years without her.
Now that same compassion is to be returned to Crazybear, with all the power at his disposal
and love in his heart.

Her two ‘sacred’ toys – her first toy [Squeaky, the blue chicken] and the ball she found herself
high in the mountains, in the Colorado Rocky Mountains, to which she assigned magic qualities.
Crazybear playing her favorite hide-and-seek game we call ‘under’.
Sadness…unable to swim or play as we usually do in the park.
Soliciting for funds for Crazybear’s operation in town main square.
